The initial code contains graphics that I don't envisage using and tends to over complicate. So the stripped out version can be found here.
Although it works it highlights the next area of work. That is the logging facility. This allows debugging to a very detailed level and I'm sure it will be invaluable later. However, as currently configured it outputs too much information. It's controlled by a configuration file so the entries in this file will have to be investigated.
